Muscles in your body work together as a team. They are responsible for maintaining posture and movement both of the body and within it. Muscles make it possible to walk, run, jump and play sports. Learn more about these four groups of muscles:

They are the fundamental support of the body and contain the muscles of the abdomen and back. Their principal purpose is to regulate movement as well as providing stability. Core muscles help your upper and lower body work together. By strengthening this area, players can improve their stamina and coordination.

Most of these muscles are considered long muscles. As they contract and relax, leg muscles move bones to create movement of the body. Smaller muscles help to stabilize and rotate joints. Leg muscles support the knee and ankle articulations and help players to sprint, cut rapidly and control foot muscles.

The musculature of the thigh can be split into three important muscles groups: anterior, adductor and posterior. Clearly, they are the most powerful muscles of the human body. Additionally, thigh muscles produce some bursts of energy to allow athletes to sprint or keep a continuous jog while working out.

The muscles of the arm -biceps, triceps and shoulders- are particularly designed to fulfill different daily tasks. Physical activities need arm and hand muscles to be strong, quick, and accurate all at the same time. Strong arms muscles are significant to have the overall strength of a complete athlete.
